The greatest challenge in the family is inadequate social services in their community. They also face the problem of owning land, so they must resort to renting land for cultivation of food crops, which cost extra money.
Simon's mental and physical health are stable.
Simon's family is headed by 46 year old, Teddy Kayiiyii. She takes care of two children in her home. One child attends the Early Childhood Development Center (ECD). The elder child is 17 yrs old. The family depends on subsistence farming for their livelihood. Extra income is also contributed by the family members who participate in providing casual labor in the community.
