Hi, I'm Hoa
I'm a girl, 11 years old and live in Vietnam.
Hoa was born in a poor family with 5 daughters in Ngoc My commune of Quoc Oai district. She was the fourth child. Her father holds traditional value of the compulsory to have a boy in family and he got extremely depressed when her mother cannot "deliver" him a son. He often comes home very late, does not have dinner with family members and sometimes does not sleep at home. Her mother cried out of emotions when sharing about her difficulties to raise 5 children by herself. She works in a construction site as mason with the daily wage of US$8. In free time, she makes conical hats. In recent weeks, her reflux gastritis has gone bad and she must take unpaid illness leaves.
Hoa and her sisters have normal health.
After being referred to Holt, Hoa would receive a grant from Holt-Vietnam Scholarship Program in September 2020.
