Hi, I'm TUYEN
I'm a girl, 3 years old and live in Vietnam.
Tuyen lives with her mother, older brother, and grandfather. Her father left the family when she was in her mother’s womb. Tuyen’s mother sells cool drinks on a motorbike. She goes to local markets, schools, industrial zones to sell and earns about 4 USD per day. However, her motorbike was old and often broken, so she used a bicycle, and it made her unable to go further for more customers. Tuyen’s grandfather has a severe spine problem that made him paralyzed on bed. Tuyen is 31 months old and her brother is four years old. Two kids have not gone to school ever before as their mother does not afford school fees. A neighbor helps to watch the kids when their mother goes out selling. The income that Tuyen’s mother earns barely covers their daily meals, not to mention other necessary living costs. Hence, local authority referred them to Holt to help improve her income so that she can provide for her children better and be able to send them to school.
