Hi, I'm Milly
I'm a girl, 5 years old and live in Uganda.
The father narrates that, Milly’s mother separated with him and the child was left with him. As a man, he could not raise Milly with her siblings alone. So he decided to shift with the children to the grandmother’s home The children are 4 in the family and Milly is the fourth child. Most of the time, Milly’s father is away from home to look for casual work to get income for the family. So the grandmother stays with children. They live in the village of Lutoma on a small piece of land where they do peasant farming to get food for home consumption. The grandmother says, they struggle a lot to raise funds for the children and the family given that she is old enough and the son who is a bread winner does not any job. Milly and her siblings love schooling but at times, they are irregular at school due to lack of scholastic materials and school fees. Therefore, Holt intervention will bring hope, joy and retention of children into school hence a bright future.
