The meager income of the father as an on call painter could hardly support the basic needs of the family more so for the educational needs. Physically, Joseph was small of his age upon admission in the center. He looks untidy and lack of attention and focus. The family shared space in a one-room dilapidated house an inside compound. Aside from being an on-call painter, the father earns extra income as a trolley driver and "kargador" of sand in nearby construction site on week-ends or other days he has no work.
