Hi, I'm Rathib
I'm a boy, 4 years old and live in Cambodia.
Rathib was enrolled in the community preschool by his parents. His age was right for schooling and his parents believed that going to school could help him prepare well for grade 1. Rathib lives with his parents, a grandmother, an older sister, an aunt, and four cousins. His parents work in the factory in Phnom Penh, and earn $250 a month each; they usually visit home during national holidays. His sister is studying in 4th grade at primary. His grandmother sells foods, and earns $15 a day. His aunt stays at home to take care of nieces and nephews. His three cousins are students, and another one is one month old. This family has sufficient food to eat and is better financially, but their children lack proper education because the public school is far from home. That is why they would like Rathib to study at a community preschool nearby, which is supported by Holt-International.
