Hi, I'm Phanit
I'm a girl, 4 years old and live in Cambodia.
Phanit was enrolled in the community preschool by her parents. Her age was right for schooling and her parents believed that going to school could help her prepare well for grade 1. They live in their own house, and they have a hectare of land for growing rice. Phanit lives with her parents and two older brothers. She is the last child in the family. Her parents work in the factory in the district, and earn 300$ a month each. Her brother is studying in 12th grade in high school, and another one gave up learning by 8th grade, and he helps his parents grow rice. This family has sufficient food to eat and is better financially, but their children lack proper education because the public school is far from home. That is why they would like Phanit to study at a community preschool nearby, which is supported by Holt-International.
