Hi, I'm Bethlehem
I'm a girl, 13 years old and live in Ethiopia.
There is no access to special need education where the child is residing and her family was in a difficult position to address her basic and educational material needs due to their poor economic status. Bethlehem is a special needs child; she can’t speak normally and actively. She doesn’t know the differences between present, past and future when she speaks. Bethlehem lives with her both parents and she has 1 brother and 3 sisters. She is the youngest and she goes to school with her older brother Tesfalign, who has special needs. Her family dwells on subsistence farming and work as daily laborers too. Even though they are struggling to address their children’s basic and educational material needs, their harsh economic condition makes it impossible. Nonetheless, her family strongly believes that education creates an opportunity for a better future in their children’s lives and should be pursued at any cost.
