Phoenix and Juniper are twins and the best of friends!
Phoenix is described as an outgoing child who is talkative and affectionate. He loves to smile! He enjoys singing, dancing, building blocks, reading books and playing outside, especially on his bike. His teachers say he has a big heart, a great sense of humor and connects well with other children his age.
Juniper’s caregivers say she is friendly, sweet and responsible. At school she is known for her bubbly and cheerful attitude! In her June 2022 report, Juniper’s teachers said her confidence has grown and she was making new friends and playing well independently. She laughs easily and enjoys running, singing and dancing. Her favorite subjects at school are P.E. and music!
Both children attend an informal school weekly. Phoenix’s school report noted that he is developing in most gross-motor skills, fine-motor skills and basic concepts. Juniper’s teachers say that she is an intelligent, reserved and cheerful girl.
Phoenix and Juniper each have fetal-alcohol syndrome (FAS) features and a complicated birth history. Both children are developmentally delayed and receiving therapeutic intervention (speech and occupational therapy).
Phoenix and Juniper need an adoptive family who is knowledgeable or willing to learn about the short- and long-term effects of significant prenatal alcohol exposure. The best adoptive family for Phoenix and Juniper will be able to provide ongoing speech and occupational therapies, and have access to excellent behavioral and educational supports to help Phoenix and Juniper thrive!
