In our June 2023 Holt calendar photo, we feature adoptee Grace Welch playing happily at the beach, wearing a bow and dress that are her absolute favorite color: pink!

Adopted from China, Grace joined her family in New Jersey in 2017. She is joyful, enthusiastic and full of love for her large family! Grace is now 6, and just finishing kindergarten.

Grace loves jumping on the trampoline and playing hide-and-seek with her siblings. She is also a voracious reader, and recently read “The Boxcar Children” all on her own! Her favorite food is ice cream. She enjoys board games like memory and chess, and she would love to become a scientist or an engineer someday.

The Welch’s recently traveled to France, which was Grace’s favorite family vacation yet. She loved riding around the Eiffel Tower in the sidecar of a retro motorcycle and visiting real castles.

The quote we feature in the calendar with Grace’s picture, by Amanda Gorman, says, “There is always light. If only we’re brave enough to see it. If only we’re brave enough to be it.”

We are thrilled to hear this update from Grace — being the light for her family, who love her dearly and are giving her every opportunity to thrive. Happy June!
