Felix
Felix is 11 years old. His caregivers describe him as an affectionate, reserved, respectful, social when comfortable, patient and generally calm child. He follows instructions well and can complete tasks he is given, he also tends to wait for others to take initiative. Felix has been able to form a good connection with his foster family, and since entering care he has shown an improvement in his behaviors.
He works hard at school and has no developmental or cognitive delays. Felix enjoys playing games, listening to music, watching TV, running, playing soccer, playing with other children, going to the parks and beach. He loves ice cream.
Carl
Carl is 9 years old. His caregivers describe him as an affectionate, social once comfortable, patient, reserved and generally happy child. Both boys have learned how to handle frustration and are adaptable to change. Carl follows instructions well and he can complete tasks he is given once explained clearly. He has also formed a good connection with his foster family and has shown an improvement in his behaviors. While he is behind in school and struggles to pay attention, he is working hard and his foster family has noticed an improvement since he started services and medication.
Socially, Carl loves affection and attention, which he seeks from adults in his life. He gets along well with his peers, brother, younger children, adults and animals. Carl enjoys playing games, listening to music, watching TV, running, playing with remote control cars, superheroes like Batman, Superman and Antman, playing soccer, playing with other children, and going to the parks and beach. He also loves ice cream!
Felix and Carl were placed in the same care foster family because they share a strong brotherly bond. Being together has helped both of them cope with the changes in their lives. We hope to find them an adoptive home that can welcome both boys together. The ideal adoptive family for Felix and Carl will be open, kind, loving, empathetic and families with a TBRI® approach. This family will also have access to Spanish-speaking therapeutic and educational supports as well as cultural supports.
