Thanks to Holt donors, Bunna isn’t hungry anymore when he comes to school.
Bunna looked pale every day when he showed up at school. He didn’t have enough food at home, and it showed.
Not only was he pale, but he lacked energy to play at recess and concentrate during class. There were many days when he stayed home and missed class entirely.
Bunna’s grandma collected donated food from the Buddhist pagoda every day. And Bunna knew that if he went and helped the monks with chores, they would give him something to eat. But it was never enough to feed their whole family.
But then Holt donors helped give him the food he needed.
As soon as Bunna and his family joined Holt Cambodia’s program, they delivered emergency food packages to his family – made possible through your generous giving.
“With this support,” Holt Cambodia says, “the family has enough daily meals, and the children go to school regularly.”
With their emergency food needs met, now Holt social workers are checking in regularly with his family — and are talking with his mom about starting income generating activities to be able to afford food on their own.
