His foster family reports that since moving into their home, he has shown great progress in his ability to follow directions and control impulsivity.
Diego enjoys playing soccer, going to the library, watching anime and playing with the neighbor kids. He hopes to have an adoptive family one day. He specifically hopes to be adopted by a family with a mom, dad, siblings and pets.
Reports state that he is on target developmentally compared to peers. He can make friends easily and maintains friendships with his peers. He is said to do well in school and stands out for his academic performance. When his emotions run high, he easily calms down with help from a trusted caregiver.
An ideal adoptive family for Diego should consist of a mom and a dad. The family should have access to a good school system with services to help him transition to a new environment following placement. The family needs to be familiar with parenting a child with a history of abuse and neglect. The family should be well versed in TBRI parenting techniques.
