Known for his caring nature with animals, Colin is recognized for his heart, adaptability and strength. Colin is described as a loving boy who is very affectionate. He is very close with his caregivers, teachers and peers. Colin gets along well with children of all ages.
Colin enjoys playing outside and likes going to swimming lessons, riding his bike and playing catch or soccer. His favorite quiet activities are playing with Legos, reading books and painting.
Colin’s adoptive family should be reassuring, stable and understanding. He expresses a desire to be adopted by a loving family and that he would like a family that can speak some Spanish. When asked what he wants to become, he replied a “big person, who exercises a lot, runs fast and is happy.”
Colin has a history of a heart murmur, small size and a bone growth disorder that will need medical follow-up and attention.
The ideal adoptive family for Colin will be able to communicate in Spanish and have Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) training. Colin needs an adoptive family that is patient, nurturing, understanding, loving and physically affectionate. His family should have access to excellent Spanish-speaking therapeutic, medical and educational supports to help Colin grow into the “big and happy” person he dreams of becoming.
