One of the best words to describe Blake is determined.
At just 13 years old, Blake has already competed at the Special Olympics where he placed second in swimming!
Blake’s lower extremities are paralyzed due to spina bifida and he uses a wheelchair. But boy, does he know how to use that wheelchair! He likes to show off all the tricks he can do, including popping wheelies and riding long distances on just the back wheels.
In addition to being a great swimmer, Blake also likes to paint and play the piano. He attends school at the orphanage, where his favorite subject is math, and he loves to read funny books.
As self-sufficient as he is determined, Blake prefers to do all that he can without help. At school, he helps fellow students when needed, and at the orphanage he dresses himself, does his own laundry and makes his bed.
Blake is an open and talkative boy, and loves to share about the events of his day and ask good questions. He has a lot of friends and is well liked by his caregivers and teachers.
Blake has a strong desire to be adopted and hopes to have an older brother or sister.
