Watch out world! Payton is coming.
Payton* loves to be active and play catch, and one day he wants to run around with his friends. For most of us, running is something that comes easily and we take it for granted. But for Payton, it is an activity that will require lots of perseverance and determination.
Payton was found at a police station when he was 3 years old. His legs are deformed and he has some language and cognitive delays. In order to do things like crawl, stand and walk, he has had to go through hours and hours of physical therapy, but he is making progress! In January he learned how to stand on his own, and now he is able to take a few steps! When he is taking a break from his physical therapy he can walk around with the help of a walker.
Payton’s caregivers describe him as being a quiet and observant boy who gets along well with the other children in the orphanage. He faces his challenges head on and never gives up. He is especially motivated when his peers cheer him on.
Payton needs a family that will cheer him on and give him the resources he needs to one day be able to not only walk, but also run.
