Help Hallie find a family for National Adoption Month!
Hallie, Northeast Asia
DOB: 8/12/09
At 7 a.m., Hallie wakes up and eats breakfast. Six months ago, this was not an easy task for Hallie. Born with cleft edges of both lips, Hallie had difficulty swallowing. She received a feeding tube in May and is now “much happier and healthier” says Erin Mower, Holt’s Waiting Child program assistant, who met Hallie earlier this year. In June, Hallie also received surgery to correct her lips.
After breakfast, it’s playtime! Dancing with her friends is Hallie’s favorite. When her housemother turns on the music, Hallie smiles and begins to gently sway back and forth. “When Hallie is happy, she smiles and makes a lot of cute sounds,” says Erin. In the afternoon, Hallie attends physical therapy. Born with agenesis of all five fingers on her right hand, therapy two times a week helps Hallie with her mobility. She can now transfer objects between her hands. “She is also learning to walk,” says Erin. “This is great news!”
At the end of the day, Hallie enjoys bath time, which includes her favorite bath toys and playfully splashing her housemother. Hallie has a great relationship with her housemother but is not shy with strangers. She will often greet new people with a smile and hug.
“We hope this lovely child will meet good permanent parents,” says a social worker. “We hope she will continue to grow up as a healthy and bright little girl under the full love and support of a family.”
Hallie’s doctors keep her healthy and thriving. Physical therapists helped Hallie to walk. Hallie’s housemother fills her life with love. But there’s one thing missing in Hallie’s life. Something not even a doctor or a loving housemother can give her.
Hallie needs a family.

I’ve met Hallie. She is such a sweet little girl, and a bit of a spitfire, too!
I’d love to see her find her forever family!
Have watched this little girl since she first came on to Holt Would love to see her grow and the therapies she needs are not that bad. Too bad we are too old, too many kiddos and state of residence is not one listed. Love to see this little one gets a family.
