On the Road to Durame

Brian Campbell, Holt Creative Productions Manager

Plotting our courseFrom Addis Ababa to Durame, EthiopiaToday we traveled a road through nothing like I have seen in the United States. Over 85% of Ethiopia’s population lives in rural areas, and this is where Holt is reaching out to families and children in crisis. Tomorrow, Gary Gamer, Holt’s President and CEO, and I will meet the people served by Holt’s new program. Though it excites me to experience this, I am anxious about the stories I will hear. The tragedies that bring children into Holt’s care always move me, and tomorrow I will hear the voices that go with those tragedies. I also expect to hear the voices of families still in the midst of difficult situations—conditions that bring Holt International to the people of this area.
